Most rejections are not rejections of the business. They are rejections of an incomplete file. A provider that reviews higher-risk businesses can only say yes to what it can understand, so the fastest route to an account is to arrive with the right documents ready.
Here is what a regulated intermediary actually needs, and why each item is on the list.
For the company:
For the people behind it: identity documents and proof of address for owners and controlling persons.
Source of funds is simply evidence of where your money comes from: platform payout statements, client invoices, signed contracts, prior bank statements. It is the single most common reason applications stall, because a provider legally cannot accept money it cannot explain.
If you can show a clean line from a named payer to your account, most of the review is already done.
Identity checks follow Swiss standards (FINMA Circular 2016/7 on video and online identification). In practice you verify either by a live video session, or online by scanning your ID and either making a small transfer from an account in your own name at a bank in a permitted country, or scanning your passport's biometric chip with your phone. Address is confirmed by a utility bill or a geolocation check.
If your business scores as higher-risk, expect a few extra questions: a closer look at source of funds, confirmation of ownership, and sanctions and politically-exposed-person screening. This is standard for the sector, not a sign the answer is no. It is the work that lets a provider say yes where a bank simply declined.
With Nudl the application takes about two minutes and needs no documents up front. If we can support you, onboarding then asks for the KYC and KYB items above: identity and address, company documents and beneficial ownership, and source-of-funds information.
